Privacy notice

This notice explains how Bouwer & Olivier Inc. handles personal information sent to us through this website, in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Who we are

What we collect

• Your name, email address, the area of law you select and your message, when you use the contact form.
• Technical information needed to protect the form from abuse, such as your IP address and browser signals, which are checked by Cloudflare Turnstile.

Providing this information is voluntary. Without an email address we cannot reply to you.

Why we collect it

Only to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to open a matter for you. We do not use it for marketing and we do not sell it.

Who sees it

• Our reception staff and the attorney responsible for the area of law you selected.
• Cloudflare, which hosts this website and runs the spam check, and Microsoft, which hosts our email. Both act on our instructions. Their services may process information outside South Africa.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become matters are deleted after 90 days. If you become a client, your information is kept with your matter file for as long as the law requires.

Website statistics

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies and does not identify you.

Your rights

You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected]. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Information Regulator.
